Read by the River
Read By The River is a literacy fair put on by Hillel every April for children in the Medford and Somerville schools. Children must read a book and write a report to enter the event, where they then recieve a new book and movie passes. The children can then visit a variety of booths with fun activities, and even meet a Patriots player! ZBT runs a booth at Kids' Day entitled "What's Your Best Guess?" We have 4 or 5 different clear boxes filled with toys and/or candy, and we ask the kids to guess how many items they think are in the box. Not only does this help develop estimation skills, whoever comes closest wins the box! Read By The River is so much fun, and ZBT is always happy to be part of it.
